Issues with untrusted SSL cert

Solution

Some newsreaders, notably later versions of SABnzbd, throw an error when using SSL that the server doesn't use a trusted SSL Certificate.

The reason for the error is that we have multiple brands and multiple addresses pointing to the same servers, and the SSL certificate doesn't match most of those addresses.
Most newsreaders aren't making this check att all, but encrypt SSL properly in spite of this mismatch, but if you are getting this error, and the newsreader doesn't have an option to ignore it, then you can set the newsreader to instad use those addresses:

  • wwwspace-us.sslusenet.com (for the US servers)
  • wwwspace-eu.sslusenet.com (for the EU servers)

Those are the same servers, with the same SSL certificates, but those addresses match the certificates used, so you shouldn't get any error.
